City London Hotel is a family-run boutique hotel with deep roots in the local community. Our building has stood on Borough Road for over a century and originally served as a traditional local pub that welcomed residents, workers, and travellers passing through Southwark.

Our History
The building began its life in the early 1900s as a neighbourhood pub, a lively meeting point for the surrounding community. For decades, it served as a social hub for locals, students, and theatre-goers from the nearby Old Vic and Young Vic.
In 2004, our family purchased the property and transformed it into The Bridge Hotel, marking the beginning of our journey in hospitality. We modernised the building while preserving its original character, turning it into a comfortable and friendly hotel that quickly became known for its warmth and personal service.
As the area continued to grow, with new universities, theatres, and cultural landmarks, we evolved with it. In 2022, we rebranded as City London Hotel, reflecting both our central location and our commitment to offering a welcoming base for guests exploring the heart of London.
