Meet the Team & About Us

Meet Our Team

The heart of City London Hotel is the people who care for it every day. As a family-run hotel, our leadership team is small, dedicated, and deeply committed to making every guest feel welcome. These are the faces behind the warmth, the service, and the sense of home our guests experience from the moment they arrive.

Sayyed — Owner

Sayyed leads the long‑term vision and development of City London Hotel. Since purchasing the building in 2004 and transforming it from a former local pub into The Bridge Hotel, and later rebranding it as City London Hotel in 2022, he has guided every stage of its growth with dedication and care.

His leadership is rooted in preserving the hotel’s family‑run values, maintaining high standards, and creating a warm, welcoming environment for every guest. Through his commitment and vision, the hotel continues to evolve while staying true to the personal touch that defines its character.

Vicky — General Manager

Vicky leads the hotel’s overall operations with a deep commitment to service quality, guest satisfaction, and continuous improvement. While the front‑desk team handles most day‑to‑day guest interactions, she works closely behind the scenes to ensure every stay meets the hotel’s high standards. She oversees all departments, supports the team, and carefully reviews guest feedback to guide meaningful improvements across the hotel.

As a member of the family that owns the hotel, Vicky plays a central and heartfelt role in shaping the hotel’s identity. She helps preserve its warm, personal, family‑run character while continuously elevating the guest experience through thoughtful enhancements, attention to detail, and a genuine dedication to making every visitor feel welcomed and cared for.

Shahram — Reception Manager

Shahram is the welcoming face of City London Hotel and the symbol of our front‑desk experience. As Reception Manager, he leads the front‑of‑house team with professionalism, warmth, and exceptional attention to guest needs. He oversees check‑ins, enquiries, and daily guest support, ensuring every visitor feels valued and well cared for from the moment they arrive.

Known for his calm manner, clear communication, and genuine hospitality, Shahram sets the tone for the hotel’s service culture. His presence at reception reflects the hotel’s commitment to friendliness, reliability, and a consistently positive guest experience — making him an essential part of what guests remember and appreciate most about their stay.

Amina — Housekeeping Manager

Amina leads the housekeeping team with exceptional attention to detail. She ensures that every room is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Her dedication to high standards plays a major role in the hotel’s reputation for cleanliness and comfort.

Eva — Breakfast & Catering Manager

Eva oversees the hotel’s breakfast service, ensuring guests start their day with a warm welcome and a well‑prepared continental selection. She manages the morning team with kindness and efficiency, maintaining a clean, inviting dining area and ensuring food is always fresh, well‑presented, and thoughtfully arranged.

Her friendly presence and attention to detail help create a positive morning experience for guests, setting the tone for the rest of their day. Eva’s dedication reflects the hotel’s commitment to comfort, hospitality, and genuine care.

Our Philosophy

Hospitality is about people — real connections, warm conversations, and the feeling of being truly welcomed. Our guests may arrive as strangers, but they leave as friends — and return as part of our extended family.

Our History

The building began its life in the early 1900s as a neighbourhood pub, a lively meeting point for the surrounding community. For decades, it served as a social hub for locals, students, and theatre-goers from the nearby Old Vic and Young Vic theatres.

In 2002, our family purchased the property and transformed it into The Bridge to China Town, a Chinese restaurant that brought new energy and flavour to the historic building. This marked the beginning of our family’s connection to the site and the first step in its modern evolution.

As the neighbourhood continued to grow, with new universities, theatres, and cultural landmarks emerging around us, we saw the opportunity to expand our role in the community. In 2004, we converted the property into The Bridge Hotel, modernising the building while preserving its original character. The hotel quickly became known for its warmth, friendliness, and personal service — values that remain central to our hospitality today.

Nearly two decades later, as London’s cultural and academic landscape continued to evolve, we embraced the next chapter of our journey. In 2022, we rebranded as City London Hotel, a name that reflects both our central location and our commitment to offering a welcoming base for guests exploring the heart of the city.

Today, City London Hotel stands as a blend of heritage and modern comfort — a family-run hotel shaped by history, community, and a dedication to genuine hospitality.

Family-Run Identity

Despite the changes over the years, one thing has remained constant: our family-run approach. We take pride in offering genuine hospitality, personal attention, and a cosy atmosphere that makes guests feel at home. Many of our team members have been with us for years, and their dedication is an important part of the experience we offer.

We aim to provide a comfortable, friendly, and stress-free stay. Whether you are visiting London for work, study, sightseeing, or a weekend break, City London Hotel offers a welcoming home in the heart of the city.
